Rivalry
...The story of how it all began...
Years and years have gone by, yet the question still remains. Only few remember the last time a human had set foot around these lands. To some the loving memories are still held close, and hope that one day they will return, but to some others, they think otherwise. Nobody really knows why or how they left. Nobody knows where they went, or why they left so many things behind. Nor will they ever know, but one thing they understand - they are gone. The question of the humans disappearance still rings, not only this small city, but in rest of the world as well. All they know is that something caused them to go, but where? Most humans evacuated the city, as that was the first sign of the disease. Yes, a new sickness first began in the small town and at first they thought it was nothing until it was too late. Most died, a suffering horrible painful death. By the time they saw what damage could be done to the human body, it was too late. Already the sickness had begun to spread and with the evacuation underway, that only caused a bigger problem around the rest of the United States. The plague flourished rapidly and killed millions. Soon it spread to the other countries and indeed it could not be stopped. The humans hadn't a clue where it came from, and before any drastic measures could be taken, it was all too late. Wiped off the face of the earth completely, the human being was no more. Yet the many survivors were ones that could not be affected by the plague - animals. The first few weeks were the most dramatic for the small town. A lot of the animals did not survive long as they either starved or simply panicked. Some dogs weren't even lucky enough to make it beyond the yard, being trapped in. Others escaped successfully and began a search to the problem. At first many of the dogs waited, and waited... and waited. Yet they never came. Soon they moved on, accepting the fact they were now alone. Although some dogs still believed the humans would one day return, the others did what they could to adapt to they're new surroundings and food sources. Meanwhile, while they got used to the living conditions, wolves made themselves cozy and invaded the city. The dogs didn't mind at first, as they learned many things from the wolves. A while after discovering the proper techniques it took to hunt moderate to large sized prey, they soon saw a decrease in many of the animals they used for daily meals. A hot summer fallowing the next year of the humans departure soon led to a loss of water sources as well as most prey disappearing and possibly moving on to place with better living conditions. The dogs would fight over whether or not to leave the city and move on, but most agreed that the city was their home. A large feud broke out as the food and water source drastically went down. Most blamed it on the humans for leaving them to suffer. But others began to create a new theory. Ever since the departure of people, wolves found the city a nice home as well. They too took what they wanted and did what they want. Large fights broke out between the wolves and dogs. One fight was so brutal it caused a death of several dogs and even a few wolves. It's been quite some time since the last fight between the two, and luckily they managed to bring the food and water up to a high supply. The tensions have been getting higher between the kinds, and they are bound to collide any moment. Will they be able to keep the peace? Join the Rivalry... The fate of the city depends on you.
